Janie Bombs Porclein Harbor

Thursday, April 10th, 2008

This is one of those fun “first time” posts that will hopefully thoroughly embarrass janie when she gets older and searches through the family website archives.

Well, Janie went d00dy in the toilet for the first time today!

Time For The Name Game!

Our current agreement is Rider.

The boy’s name Rider \r(i)-der\ is of Old English origin, and its meaning is “horseman”. Possibly a transferred surname. Rider has 2 variant forms: Ridder and Ryder. Rider is a very rare male first name and a very popular surname (source: 1990 U.S. Census).

I like Rider Jackson Coleman. Carrie likes Rider Daniel Coleman as well.

My Other Picks

  • Jebidiah
  • Harley

Carrie’s Other Picks

  • Isaac
  • Micah

UPDATE

Carrie thinks that Ryder is the expected way to spell the name. I say it’s Rider. What I don’t want, is for him to have to spell his name to everybody. So when you think of Rider, how would you think to spell it without knowing.

THIS IS NOT HOW YOU WOULD SPELL IT. If you had to write a guys name, which way would you assume his name was spelled?

Which spelling is the expected for this name?

Independance Day

Friday, July 6th, 2007

We actually had 2 parties with fireworks this year. On the 3rd of July Tonya’s parents have a big BBQ at their house and they put on their own firework show on their lake front property. So we went there, then we had a BBQ at Chad’s parents house on the 4th of July. After the party Chad and I met JJ and Sara downtown to watch the big firework show.

Memorial Day Camping ‘07

Monday, May 28th, 2007

So we went up to the Little North Fork River to get our camp on!

On our way there, we passed this crashed jeep.

I stopped to check on it, and the inside lights were still on. Thankfully there was nobody there, and no sign of injury. It must have happened the night before. I’m guessing it was either them hittin the bottle, or they swerved to miss a deer or a unicorn. Cos it was pretty strange how they managed to do what they did.

So yesterday, the Freemans had come back from the woods for Janie’s birthday party. And Jonas was telling me that on his way out, he stopped to talk to a guy parked on a forest road. The guy started telling Jonas how he had just watched a cow moose give birth to 2 calves, in the middle of the road, and that Jonas had just missed it!

Well, we were lucky enough to run into the mama moose and her calves. She didn’t seem to bothered with us sittin right next to her while she fed her youngin’s.

We even took some film!

We crossed over Deception Creek on the way there. Its beautiful this time of year, as everything is so green.

We were there with Jonas Tanya, and Isiah, Jeremiah and Alex, and their 2 kids, and Jared and Abby, friends of Jeremiah and Alex. It was nice the first day we were out there. But we woke up to non-stop raining. So that put a damper on things. We packed up and headed out around 11am, only to see the moose on the way out again!

Janie’s Baptism

Sunday, November 5th, 2006

Today was a very special day for our little baby bear. Today was her presentation for the sacrament of baptism.

1) The sacrament of infant baptism is for the parent an act of praise and thanksgiving.

2) The sacrament of infant baptism is for the parent and act of confession. Carrie and I readily admit that we both are unworthy and unqualified for the task. Janie is a gift of grace.

3) The sacrament of infant baptism is for us, an act of commitment.

4) The sacrament of infant baptism is for us, an act of obedience.

“Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord; and the fruit of his womb is His reward, As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them” (Psalms 127:3-5)

Meet Baby Janie!

Meet Baby Janie!

update. 5.28.06 Janie on the KMC website!
update. 5.27.06 Added more photos

An hour after returning home from the airport with Heath, Carrie tells me that we really need to go to the hostpital. So we get to Kootenai Medical Center (KMC) around 1:30 am. After an hour she was dialated at 6cm. One hour later or less she was almost at 9cm. That was when we started making calls.

From there, Carrie gracefully handled the labor. The nurses and doctor were all very impressed with how Carrie took it like a champ, and how it only took 40 minutes of pushing. They were all jealous. hehe.

And here are the sneak peak photos that everyone has been receiving on their phones.

Our First Anniversary

Sunday, April 30th, 2006

Antique PhotoApril 30th. Today marks the end of our first year of marriage. Carrie has been the best thing to ever happen to me, and she makes marriage way too easy. We celebrated Saturday evening by dining at The Cedars floating restaurant on Lake CDA, with fancy steaks, Kokanee beers, and a blueberry ice cream desert on the house. Thanks Matuszaks for the dinner money! Then we watched Seven Brides for Seven Brothers on DVD, that we bought at Blockbuster.

As a anniversary gift my folks “donated” a used hot tub to us. We picked it up the week before, and it worked perfectly. Now I have to pour a gravel pad in the backyard off the deck, and then we’ll be set to go. My mom also set us up with a very nice baby changing station. Thank you mom and dad! Now I have to put it together…

Well, I love you Mama Bear. You’re my favorite wife.

Labor Day Fun

Monday, September 5th, 2005

Summer is almost offically over. Labor Day is pretty much the final straw of summer events. Then the leaves start to change, and it gets freeeeezing at night. So Im sad, cos I love summer weather, I hate being cold.

But yesterday we had a BBQ over here with the Colemans and some friends. We played Volley Ball and cooked some chili dogs. It was good fun.

Then today we are going over to the Colemans house for a BBQ and to jump in the spa.

Oh yea, and Daniel swam around the Peir today, so maybe he will give us an update on how he did. Im sure they took some pictures, but we dont wanna see them speedo shots!!!

Bridal Shower

Saturday, April 9th, 2005

Today I had my Bridal Shower over at the Whitehouses! It was so neat to have all of my closest family and friends all together helping me celebrate my upcoming wedding.

The games we played were awesome. Go Jamie!! Good Job!! We had the girls get into groups to make flower bouquets out of construction paper and pipe cleaner. My mom, Dona, Barbra and Jenny won this game, their bouquet looked like it was straight from a cartoon, so cute!. Also CC got an outstanding 100% on “Who Knows Carrie and Chad the Best!” And we also had a Wedding Word Scramble.

I recieved so many awesome gifts, I cant even believe it. Also I would just like to thank everybody who helped out with the preperations for the shower, especially the Whitehouse family for hosting the shower at their house and working so hard on everything, I really did have a awesome day!

Names appear on mouse over.
