This weekend we enjoyed camping at the Sam Owen Campground in Hope, Idaho (View Map). We met up with the Vander Feers and enjoyed sitting by the peaceful lake Pend Oreille and watching Janie and Ryan play together.

As it was labor day, and the Sam Owen campground is “first come, first serve”, we had to camp out an the Tressle Creek RV Park Saturday night. But we got up early on Sunday and secured two nice spots next to each other at Sam Owen.

The first evening at the Tressle Creek Recreation park by the lake, we BBQ’d burgers, shot the BB gun and enjoyed the view and a campfire. I took a HDR shot, and will have it up shortly.

The Sam Owen campground was a great park. We pulled in around 8:30am, cooked breakfast out of the camper in the lakeside parking lot. Played a game of horseshoes. Sat by the lake drinkin beer and enjoying the lake and sun.

The Sam Owen game reserve in Hope, Idaho is a pretty neat place. It’s a peninsula that is safeguarded against hunting, so the deer run around quite tame. We drove around some of the neighborhoods and saw plenty of deer everywhere. I saw a 8 point buck eating out of an older gentleman’s hand, in his front yard.
