Baby Boy 3D Videos

Time For The Name Game!

Our current agreement is Rider.

The boy’s name Rider \r(i)-der\ is of Old English origin, and its meaning is “horseman”. Possibly a transferred surname. Rider has 2 variant forms: Ridder and Ryder. Rider is a very rare male first name and a very popular surname (source: 1990 U.S. Census).

I like Rider Jackson Coleman. Carrie likes Rider Daniel Coleman as well.

My Other Picks

  • Jebidiah
  • Harley

Carrie’s Other Picks

  • Isaac
  • Micah

UPDATE

Carrie thinks that Ryder is the expected way to spell the name. I say it’s Rider. What I don’t want, is for him to have to spell his name to everybody. So when you think of Rider, how would you think to spell it without knowing.

THIS IS NOT HOW YOU WOULD SPELL IT. If you had to write a guys name, which way would you assume his name was spelled?

Which spelling is the expected for this name?

  2. Chad says:

  4. Erik says:

    Clint

  5. Grandma Miriam says:

Psalm 139: “I will praise You for I am fearfully and wonderfully made”….those words so clearly describe how one feels when looking at these videos.

As for names……..how about Chase Daniel Coleman?

  6. Erik says:

Ryder is much better than rider. I got your back Big C:cool:

  7. Chad says:

This isn’t about which ways cooler. this is about how you’d expect it to be spelled. So your vote is nill. nerd.

  8. Ashley says:

I have a Ryder in my class right now and he spells it with a “y”. It is a very cute name no matter how you spell it!

  9. Chad says:

Thanks Ash. Yer mom is already tryin to hook him up with your possible daughter. Chris doesn’t mess around. she gets right down to business.

and im still waiting for your mom and dad to have us over for bbq and beers.

  10. Heath C. says:

I’m of the impression he’s gonna have to spell it out for people regardless of which way it is on his birth certificate.I still get Heather from time to time. Does “heath” even SOUND remotely like “Heather”? I didn’t think so.

Anyways, I’m sayin’ hes gonna have to spell it out regardless.

  11. Pam says:

It’s almost LOtR, but I like it. Unique in a very cool way. He won’t get picked on until middle school with a name like that, at least.

  12. heather daniel says:

I love the name Ryder, that is so cool, I also thought Carrie would name one of her boys in the future “chase” so either one works =D I love Ryder spelled with a Y also. I dunno bout the name Daniel though.. its so common in our family!!!

I found the most unique spelling of Carrie though and that was “Kyrianne” I thought it was so cool!

Heath, I always wondered about that.. if you get asked if your name in general comes from the name heather.. like Heath Ledger. When I think of the name heath, I think of the candy bar

  13. annie says:

Congratulations! A boy! What awesome videos! Well….. My vote is to spell it Ryder.

  14. Christina Barosko says:

Congrats! What a cool ulrasounds. My son is only 9, we didn’t get that cool videos back then.

  15. grandma gloria says:

    How about Brett Nathaniel

  16. grandma gloria says:

    or, Isak

  17. Chad says:

no weird spellings! i refuse to make my child spell out his name to people for the rest of his life!

  18. PaPa Rick says:

    Hey Chad & Carrie

(Rider) is more of a discription adj. of what a person does in life..

(Ryder) is used more as a persons name…

My vote goes to  Ryder

  19. Chad says:

Actually.. since they are both derived from the same surname… they are both a description. Much like the last name Smith, is derived from “what a person does in life”

  20. CC says:

I’ve never seen it spelled with an “i”, but it’s cute and different, he will probably have to spell it a lot though.

  21. Erik says:

Dude, i have to spell my name out to every single person I meet. It’s really not that big of a deal.

  22. Mindi says:

I think it’s swell that I get to chime in on this stuff. Don’t you? One day I’m going to figure out how to make this comment box screech at you. Anyhoo, from my vast experience in names spelled with a funk, I vote for Rheidhur. Nobody ever got Malinda (with an A) right and they didn’t even try Neuenschwander and now they say LehFLUr like we’re from France or something. Fairies! OK so back to your spawn. Are ya gonna call him Red? Can I send you some bebes as a baby shower present? Congrats to both of yas! Sounds like fun.

  23. Heather Daniel says:

Um, I hate to say it, but.. no matter what the spelling is he will always have to say it.. but you know what…he will say it proudly. Connor my son loves to spell out his name, yes we had the option of spelling it with a “er” but the “or” rolls of your tounge more. All my kids have been asked to spell there names, it teaches them how unique they are even if its the proper spelling…lol kids dont care bout how many times people ask.. hell everyone keeps asking me how I spell my first and last name and I am 30 freakin years old =p So I really dont think its a huge deal. hehehe
  Its like having to show your ID to buy beer at the store, you’d get upset if they stopped asking you all together, trust me.

  24. grandma gloria says:

Caleb Daniel John Coleman , with two middle names

  25. Chad says:

Heather – I know a few people who disagree with you.

  26. Heath C. says:

IM WITH MINDI!! RHEIDHUR IS TEH BESTEST!!!!!

And uh…as for Surnames…We came from a bunch of dirty coal miners…all I gots tah say bout dat.

And another thing…Chud…get over teh spelling thing cuz it happens no matter if you had a name like “Roadwarrior” people would still question your legitimacy. You have to prove you’re real sometimes by phonetically pounding the letters into the minds of the unwilling and unlearning!

If any of that made sense and actually passed through your filters unchecked, then good for me. Mission successed! All yer babes are belong to me1!!1!

  27. Luke says:

Hi Chad and Carrie. A good name would be Winchester, Troy, Emerson, or James. And how about Johnny. Ok bye for now.

  28. Chad says:

    Thanks Luke!

  29. Chad says:

And to everyone – Boy am I sorry I even asked!

I was merely looking for the more common spelling of the name. I am fully aware that everyone in the whole wide world will have to spell their name to someone else in the whole wide world at some point in time in this whole wide world. I was only looking for the variant that required the least amount of times being spelled to somebody. thanks.

  30. Heath C. says:

 Chad…out of this whole wide world I expected this least of all from you. I mean..theres plenty of turds out in this whole wide world who think they are better than the whole wide world is…but to hear this from you? I would rather journey the whole wide world in search of the meaning of the whole wide world than hear this talk of nonsensical whole wide world stuff coming from you.

    Get my point?

  31. Chad says:

um… do you really need to say “whole wide world” that many times? :???:

  32. Heath C. says:

No, I guess not…but it was fun seeing how man yI could fit in there.

  33. angela says:

    Heath is cracking me up.

So I say Ryder, and so do most of the girls at my work. (I only asked the smart ones)

    But, how about Jack Daniels?
    any votes?

    Or Proud American Coleman?
Anyone? can I get a show of hands?

  34. Carrie says:

Angela we have actually joked about Jack Daniel before cos Chad really likes the name Jack… But the name Proud American?? Uhh thats alittle too far out of my box.
But I will be sure to remember to suggest that name when you are having a little boy

  35. Chad says:

    Hah – angela? kids?

  36. Chad says:

What about the name Bear.

  37. Grandma Miriam says:

Bear!!!! If this little guy looks anything like his Daddy when he is born, that would be the funniest name ever! I remember this little guy who was long and skinny, wore premie diapers that wouldn’t stay up, and weighed around 11 lbs when he was almost 4 months old!

  38. Chad says:

dang! well… thats a baby bear.

  39. grandma gloria says:

In the archives of Oct. 2005, you can review all the baby boy names we had picked for Janie:smile: and their is Ryder right in there listed by auntie Dona!

  40. Heath C. says:

Hey I got a great idea!!

    How about Heath? :shock: :shock::shock:

  41. Chad says:

i gotta better idea. how about putting spaces between your smilie faces so they actually show! :???:

  42. Heath C. says:

Ya know, I thought about that shortly after I hit submit…such a bummer that whole bad timing thing. Oh well, Im still cool. :cool:

  43. Chad says:

    :nerd::nerd::nerd:
