As most of you know, we’ve been searching for a house this past month. We’d like to get settled in before baby Janie comes along.

The house we’re currently trying to buy is hitting some speed bumps. Being that we’re poor white trash, we are going with the FHA loan. It allows you to buy a home with no money down. We have some money (Heaths money) that we’re putting back into the place to increase its value the next time we sell it. Dupont laminate floors, scraping the acoustic ceiling, new appliances, new trim and door jams, etc.

Well.. we noticed that the roof wasn’t looking to hot, so we climbed up to clean off some moss, and take a closer look. And everywhere that there’s a tar patch, the roof comes close to caving in under pressure. great. Then I climb to the upper story, and find a big X painted in one spot. And that spot right there would have easily collapsed if I had put my full weight on it.

So now the roofing AND the plywood is shot. And the sellers don’t wanna pay for it. I’ve tried to make em, and they still won’t budge. So we’re going half and half at this point, but things are still developing. We’ll see how it turns out.
