Our First Anniversary

Sunday, April 30th, 2006

Antique PhotoApril 30th. Today marks the end of our first year of marriage. Carrie has been the best thing to ever happen to me, and she makes marriage way too easy. We celebrated Saturday evening by dining at The Cedars floating restaurant on Lake CDA, with fancy steaks, Kokanee beers, and a blueberry ice cream desert on the house. Thanks Matuszaks for the dinner money! Then we watched Seven Brides for Seven Brothers on DVD, that we bought at Blockbuster.

As a anniversary gift my folks “donated” a used hot tub to us. We picked it up the week before, and it worked perfectly. Now I have to pour a gravel pad in the backyard off the deck, and then we’ll be set to go. My mom also set us up with a very nice baby changing station. Thank you mom and dad! Now I have to put it together…

Well, I love you Mama Bear. You’re my favorite wife.

Thanks Erik

Carrie and I would like to thank my main squeeze, Erik Kolb. I was greeted this afternoon by a special fedex package just for me. And in it was the precious Suzie Q Brand Seasoning, that I thrive on.

He also got Big C a sweet travel mug from the Apple Farm, for her birthday present. He was so smoothe, he even left the receipt in the bag! Thanks erik! You really are…. The Man.

Happy Birthday Debbie

Monday, April 17th, 2006

We have been behind on updating this website. But I want to wish my aunt Debbie a HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Today is her birthday, and even though the day is almost over, I hope you had a great one anyways!!!

We need to post the pictures from Easter and my Birthday up here also, we spent the day at Chad’s parents house so it was fun. Its just been real crazy around our house, trying to get everything unpacked. So we do a little every night when we get home from work, but I only have a little bit of energy from working all day…. so its hard. Oh yea, so we still need to put pictures up of our new house! Its such a cute house, we really like it.

Happy Birthday Carrie

This is the belated birthday post for Carrie. :D

We combined Easter dinner at my folks house with Carrie’s birthday. I was gonna post the Easter photos as soon as I got a chance, and I ended up forgetting to post about Carrie! I’m such a horrible husband.

Happy Birthday Carrie. I love you, mama bear. I’ll get the photos up as soon as I can.

My Good Friend Copper

Friday, April 14th, 2006

It was spring of 2003. I had been wanting a hound dog for years, and this was the year that I was gonna get one. I was ready to search the internet, but I decided to check out local Humane Society first. I originally had a bloodhound on my mind, but that all changed when I met Copper. He was a black and tan coonhound, and boy did he have the look.

CopperHe was already a born pickup truck dog. When ever I drove off without him… I could feel his pain. Riding in the truck was his idea of heaven. And if he wasn’t riding shotgun, he woulden’t stop bellering out the side of the truck bed. He was friendly as can be, knew to sit, and come… he was great. He went everywhere with me that year. To the lake to swim, to Jeff’s barn for riding and cleaning stalls. He was my best friend.

Moving In!

Tuesday, April 11th, 2006

Well, we’ve finally made an agreement with the sellers on splitting the cost of the roof. Only they want a licensed contractor to do it. So it should be done with the next couple of days.

Meanwhile, we’ve gradually been hauling stuff over. Today and tomorrow are the biggest hauls that we gotta do.

But last nite, Jared helped me carry some things, and Anna helped Carrie clean up the bathrooms. Thank you Anna!

House Update

Sunday, April 9th, 2006

As most of you know, we’ve been searching for a house this past month. We’d like to get settled in before baby Janie comes along.

The house we’re currently trying to buy is hitting some speed bumps. Being that we’re poor white trash, we are going with the FHA loan. It allows you to buy a home with no money down. We have some money (Heaths money) that we’re putting back into the place to increase its value the next time we sell it. Dupont laminate floors, scraping the acoustic ceiling, new appliances, new trim and door jams, etc.

Well.. we noticed that the roof wasn’t looking to hot, so we climbed up to clean off some moss, and take a closer look. And everywhere that there’s a tar patch, the roof comes close to caving in under pressure. great. Then I climb to the upper story, and find a big X painted in one spot. And that spot right there would have easily collapsed if I had put my full weight on it.

So now the roofing AND the plywood is shot. And the sellers don’t wanna pay for it. I’ve tried to make em, and they still won’t budge. So we’re going half and half at this point, but things are still developing. We’ll see how it turns out.
