Christmas Tree Hunt

Saturday, November 26th, 2005

As we’re all sittin around my house on Friday afternoon, everyone is brainstorming on what we can all go do. I throw out the idea that we can always head up to the mountains and hunt for our Christmas trees. I’ve never really gone out and got one from the woods, but I’ve never had my own place on Christmas before.

So everybody likes the idea, because my hunting partner informed me that there was plenty of snow up there for the kids to play in. So with Jared and Anna in his blazer, and Heath and I in my pickup, and everyone else in Jarrid’s Expedition, we began our wagon train to the mountains.

As we gained in elevation, snow started appearing on the mountain sides, as well as on the road. Since the area back there is mostly dominated by hunters, the snow on the road was pretty well packed to ice. My truck handles pretty good on ice, as well as my brothers rig, but from what I was told Jarrid’s Expedition was doin a bit of slippin. Being there first time up in this type of “harsh conditions”, I guess they weren’t feeling comfortable. So by the time we got to where I was taking them, they all wanted to go home.

So they headed back down with Jared following them, and it ended up just being Heath and I. So Heath grabbed the rifle off the rack, and I put my trompin boots on, and we headed down the old snow covered road in search of our perfect Charlie Brown Christmas Tree, and a possible buck.

If you have high speed internet, you can see Heath explain his take on things. (Link to 10Mb video)

Thanksgiving 2005

Saturday, November 26th, 2005

Here are a few photos from this weekend!

Carrie Ann, Jared and I drove to the airport in Washington, on thursday around 0100 hours, to pick up Heath, Anna and Jamie. We got heath first at terminal A, while we were there we happened to run into our good friends, JJ and Sara. They were picking up Sara’s folks, visiting from PA. Then we proceded over to terminal B to wait for the girls to come in. We got back to our house to unload Jamie’s stuff, then we headed up to my folks place for some good eatin’s. Carrie Ann made an apple pie that she was mighty proud of.

The Whitehouse Vacation

Sunday, November 20th, 2005

I was accidently sent a few photos of Ed, Girl, and Luke up in Santa Maria, by Jack. But me and Carrie Ann coulden’t help but notice what a good time Girl was havin’. So we decided to post em here!

Here is a photo of her actually having a good time! I think girl has finally gone country. But in truth, I believe I rode these same pony rides when I was about 5 years old. It was at a sunday school friends party. Maybe my mom can remember the details better than I.

What do you think, mom? Is that the same place?

FRIDAY!

Friday, November 18th, 2005

I love Fridays!! Mainly because I get to sleep in tomorrow morning and I have the next two days to do whatever I want. Which will probably consist of going to get lunch with CC and the boys tomorrow and then going shopping. But thats always fun.

I cant wait for everybody to get up here. Its gonna be a nice long Thanksgiving weekend! And yes I hope it does snow, so we can play in it with everybody. I mean its cold enough, might as well have snow on the ground.

Also I went to my first doctors visit yesterday. I heard the heart beat! It was so amazing because it was my first realization that a living being is living inside me. I cant even describe it. But the doctor said everything looks normal, and my baby is due May 30th so that puts me at about 3 months along.

Finally

Saturday, November 12th, 2005

I put in a week notice at Bed Bath and Beyond. It was getting to be to much for me working two jobs. So it will be nice for me to be able to come home everynight and not worry about going to another job. Plus I never had energy to do housework cos I was always to tired. So now I can spend more time at home, and having the Rhodes come over more often. I kept up working there as long as I could, and earned some extra Christmas money, but now Im super happy its almost over! Plus we have some special guests coming up for Thanksgiving…. and I do not want to be working when they are here!!!

Anna and Jamie and coming up from Cali, and Heath will be coming over from North Carolina. I am very excited to see everybody!!! Its gonna be a great Thanksgiving with everybody. But I am sad that I cant spend our traditional Thanksgiving with my family, I miss them very much. But it will help that I have some of my family members up here with me. And its Mine and Chad’s first Thanksgiving together….awww how sweet!

First Snow

Saturday, November 12th, 2005

We had our first snow last night. It didnt stay very long, so its gone now. It was just enough to put a thin layer across the lawn. But Cc and Jarrid did take the boys out to look and play in the snow for a little bit last night. So that was fun for them. Hopefully it will snow again soon, then go away real quick again…. thats what we like.

Community Projects

Sunday, November 6th, 2005

Chad and I have been going to a young married Bible study every Wednesday night, and as a group we have to complete some projects. So for our Community Project, the girls and guys split up today and the girls went over to the Dollar Tree, and we bought some Get Well balloons and we bought some lolli pops to use as weights to tie to the balloons. Well we took those balloons over to the Hospital and passed them out to all the sick children. It was so neat to see all the expressions of the little kids when we handed them balloons. One little boy said, “Do you do this for all the Kids? Cos thats very nice of you” It was such a cool experience for all us girls. One little girl was only 1 1/2, so she was playing with her balloon in her crib. Soo cute. After the children room, we still had some balloons, so we took them over to the General Surgery Room and passed them out there. Some of the patients didn’t have any vistors or balloons, so they were happy to see us and to receive a balloon.

As we were at the hospital the boys went around a neighborhood introducing themselves as being with a church and volunteered to rake the piles of leaves off their yard. But most of the people denied their offer either cos they had children to rake, or they wanted to do it themselves. But they did manage to rake the yard of a widow at the church, and she appreciated it very much.

Alot of you probably received these photos via email from Jarrid and CC. But here they are for those who missed out! Lets try and limit it to only a billion comments, unlike Carrie’s baby name post.

True Story

Friday, November 4th, 2005

The wife said I sat up the other night, sang the line “Sky rockets in flight :sing:” from the music video to the movie Anchorman. Then I laid back down, and didn’t respond to her expected question of… “What the heck??”.

If you haven’t seen the music video. You should. Select the “Afternoon Delight Music Video”.

Pictures!!

Tuesday, November 1st, 2005

Well here are some pictures from my family’s Halloween Party. I gave the award for the best costume to my dad…. haha cos he looks so tuff!

We really didnt do anything on Halloween… I had to work, but Chad went over to the neighbors haunted house with some friends. Cc and Jarrid took the boys trick or treating for a bit, then came into BBB to vist me. I will get some pictures of the boys and post them, cos they looked soooo cute!
