The Hotness

Saturday, July 30th, 2005

The weather is getting pretty hot up here. Im not use to this above 90 degrees stuff everyday. Even at 9 in the morning its hot enough to lay out, which I did this morning. But even that early, its still too hot to stay outside, so about 15 minutes was all I could take. But I would rather have it hot than cold… so I better enjoy this weather.

Heath is Back!

Tuesday, July 26th, 2005

Well, right now Heath is back in California with my family. Anna and Daniel picked him up from the airport this evening and now they are having a par-tay. My dad picked up some Filippis Pizza so they are all nice and full from that. Filippis is my family’s favorite resturant that my parents have been going to for about 30 years now. Its the greatest.

So heath should be up here in about 5 days or so. He will be driving up here with his mom Miriam and Leslie and Stephanie from Cali.

Also my family is coming up here real soon now!! Yay! I cant wait, it’s about 2 weeks away. It will fun to show everybody around up here, and take them to the lake in this nice warm weather we are having. I cant wait to hold baby Travis, he is getting so big right before my eyes on the webcam!

To Mother Dear

Happy Birthday Mom. It’s your birthday. Have fun today. I love you.

We miss you so much, and wish we could be there today and eat some cake with you, cos I know Anna or CC is probably gonna make a delicious one!!!

Have a great one!!

Heath Is Comin’

Friday, July 22nd, 2005

Heath called my cell from Korea this morning. He wanted me to inform you Whitehouses, that his arrival time is up in the air. So he’s not even sure he’s gonna be there on Wednesday. He wanted me to let you know.

You Know You’re From So Cal When…

Monday, July 18th, 2005

YOU KNOW YOUR FROM SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA WHEN…

The fastest part of your commute is down your driveway.

You go to the beach and see that real lifeguards actually do look like the lifeguards from Baywatch

Your monthly house payments exceed your annual income.

You drive next to a Rolls Royce and don’t notice.

You begin to “lie” to your friends about where you are (i.e. “Yeah I’m like 20 minutes away”) - when you know that it’ll take you at least an hour to get there).

You drive to your neighborhood block party.

You don’t exterminate your roaches, you smoke them.

In the “winter”, you can go to the beach and ski at Big Bear on the same day.

You eat a different ethnic food for every meal

If your destination is more than 5 minutes away on foot, you’re definitely driving.

Calling your neighbors requires knowing their area code.

You know what In N Out is and feel bad for all the other states because they don’t have any.

You don’t stop at a STOP sign, you do a California Roll.

You really can never be too rich or too thin.

You’ve partied in Tijuana at least once.

You go to a tanning salon before going to the beach.

You eat pineapple on pizza.

Bars card. For real.

Your cell phone has left a permanant impression on the side of your head.

You think that Venice is a beach.

The waitress asks if you’d like “carbs” in your meal.

You mourned for Tupac and not for Biggie

You know who the tinsel underwear dude in Venice Beach is. ( the guitar guy on skates lol)

You call 911 and they put you on hold.

You have a gym membership because it’s mandatory.

The gym is packed at 3pm…on a workday.

You know that if you drive two miles in any direction you will find a McDonald’s or a Starbucks.

You know what “sigalert”, “PCH”, and “the five” mean.

Getting anywhere from point A to point B, no matter what the distance, takes about “twenty minutes”.

The Terminator is your governor

You can’t remember . . . is pot illegal?

It’s barely sprinkling rain and there’s a report on every news station: “STORM WATCH”

You actually get these jokes and pass them on to other friends from California

Pick yer Poison

Saturday, July 16th, 2005

Colin and Brandon were over last night, and Carrie had her friend, Shawna, over from work.

Us guys were chuggin on them Old English High Gravity’s…. aaaannd…. all I can say, is that one is plenty. So don’t ever try to drink two of them.

Man, Only A Dream

Thursday, July 14th, 2005

I keep having dreams that I’m working back at ChildTime. I sure miss those kids. I need to get myself in a classroom again. I would love my job.

The Wimmin Are Off

Monday, July 11th, 2005

Mom, Leslie and Stephanie have taken off for their voyage to the edge of the world. Where they will go, dinosaurs run wild, crazed natives run around throwing spears whilst only wearing skimpy mud flaps, and a fine course meal involves human. They are going on a voyage for the good of mankind. They will discover the long sought question of….. Is the earth reeeeeeally round?

No, actually they’re just headed over to Fiji to visit Grandma, the missionary. They’ll be helping her out with some work, drinking pina colada’s, and getting caught in the rain… wait… no, thats a song…. nevermind.

Um. All I know is that the menfolk tend to wear dresses…. kinda like the crazy somoans. Anyways, pray that they’ll be kept safe in their journey to the edge of the world.

Girls Night Out

Saturday, July 9th, 2005

Well, Chad is on an overnight hunting trip with his buddy Sean. So now I have nobody to play with. Chads Mom and sisters went to Fiji on a Missions trip with Miriam’s mom, so that should be fun for them. And my mom, dad, and daniel are in Laughlin gambling and getting free drinks in the Casinos. Luckies. I was gonna hang out with one of my friends from work tonite, but that didnt work out.

But, I get to have a girls night out with Anna, CC, and Laura on good old webcam. Yay, tons of fun. They get to watch me eat MnMs and drink DP, while I see them eat Grandma Bushy’s frosting cookies. Yea, this is as close as I get to hanging out with my family. Its like I’m right there in Anna’s condo with them holding baby Travis. But its not fun when they tease me showing me my cup of Malted Crunch Ice Cream, that I cant eat!!!!

Jared Status

Thursday, July 7th, 2005

He’s lookin alot better today. Completely conscious, and talking.

He’s so lucky. He has a “magic button”. Every ten minutes he gets to push this “magic button”… and then…. magic stuff happens… like…. sweet sumptious morphine comes to make life happy.

We told him all the stuff you guys have been sayin, and he wanted me to say how blessed he feels to have all these friends praying for him. He’s very greatful. And he likes morphine.

We grabbed a couple photos while we were in there today. Enjoy!

Update on Jared

Thursday, July 7th, 2005

We went to go see Jared last nite at the hospital. He is in Intensive Care. Miriam was there all day with him, but we couldnt get there til the evening. He was loaded on morphine, but he kept saying his back was hurting him, and he kept asking the same questions. It was hard to see Jared like this. But with these kind of situations we have to look to God for comfort and know that He is in total control of everything. He hears our prayers.

So after seeing Jared, Chad and I went to a Married Group with the church. It was actually really fun. There were about 5 couples at the house, and since it was our first time meeting, it was mainly a time getting to know everybody. The other couples were great, I think we are gonna hang out with them soon here. Which is good cos I still need to make friends.

After group, we called Chads parents who were still at the hospital to see if they wanted to go out to dinner with us.
So they met us a Perkins and we had a nice dinner.

Pray for Jared

Wednesday, July 6th, 2005

Please keep Jared in your thoughts and prayers. He took a spill off a roof today at work, and ended up in the ER.

From what mom told me on the phone, he has:

  • 3 busted ribs
  • deflated lung
  • concussion
  • fractured pelvis
  • possible back injury

He was workin with his boss, and the boss’ brother up on the first story of a roof, when he must have slipped. Nobody saw exactly how he fell, but he landed on his left side, leaving that whole half bruised and scraped plus the above injuries.

He’s been down at the Kootenai hospital all day, and mom has been with him. She said that he has a temporary memory loss, because he kept on asking the same questions to my mom, over and over again. She mentioned one was him asking where his daughter is. So it’s a pretty rough time for all of us right now.

As soon as Carrie gets off work, we’re headed down to see him. So I’ll update you later tonite, probably around 9 PST.

4th of July Fun Times…

Tuesday, July 5th, 2005

Well this 4th of July was very umm, interesting.

Well the first part of the day was of course gonna be lame because I had to work. Who wants to shop at Bed Bath and Beyond when its a gorgeous day outside? NOBODY! So since the store was so empty, it made the day go by super slooooow.

I got off work at about 6:30 and Chad is at the lake with friends. So they come back to pick me up while I clean the house from the morning breakfast. So we meet up with Chads friends and a pastor’s family. The family was real nice. But it was just weird, cos Im use to having my family there with other kids coming to visit my family, but this time I was the other kid visiting a different family. I didnt really know anybody, so I kept quiet to myself.

The fire work show was actually not impressive. Very small grand finale. And to top the night off, it took us an hour and half to get home. Yep, didnt get home til midnight, when the show ended at about 10:15. Not worth it.

Oh well, what can you do? Hopefully next year will be alot different. And ya, it seems like everybody I talked to from the Whitehouse party told me about their cheesecake! Thanks alot guys, it made me feel so much better! smile I want some right now!!

America The Beautiful

Monday, July 4th, 2005

Today is America’s 229th birthday. God bless her.

If you were to ask me why I love her, it might take me a bit before I could answer. I would have to think of all the many reasons, enough to write a book about it. There’s the freedom of democracy, the prusuit of happiness, the freedom of religion… a country founded on God’s principles. It’s one thing that will always get my utmost respect, America. I will never take my freedoms for granted. I will never take for granted, the fighting men who gave their lives for my freedom. I truley believe that we are a nation under God. That Gods hand guides us, and made us the greatest nation on Earth in such a short matter of time.

You’re a grand old flag.
You’re a high-flying flag.
And forever in peace may you wave.

You’re the emblem of the land I love,
the home of the free and the brave!

Every heart beats true for the red, white, and blue.
Where there’s never a boast or brag!
But should old acquaintance be forgot,
Keep your eye on that Grand Old Flag!

Never forget the pains that were taken to ensure your freedoms. Never forget the fightin’ men on the front lines. The men who responded courageously to the call of duty.

I think one of my hero’s said it best. He said it best for me, and many a proud American. So I’m just gonna let the Duke do the rest of the talkin’ for me.

Brain Teaser

Carrie was especially slow at this one. She tried to play it off, while being silent for a minute, and then sayin it real fast. But I knew she was memorizing the order, so she could say em fast.

Fun Times Tomorrow

Sunday, July 3rd, 2005

Well nothing to interesting has been happening in the Coleman home lately. Working mostly. We just got home from a nice Mexican lunch with Chads family. We usually go out to lunch somewhere every Sunday after church.

But there is the awesome news of little Shasta being found. Everybody is talking about it. I found out the news by Angel calling me early Saturday morning.

4th of July is tomorrow. I have to work from 12 til 7. Which is okay cos the real fun happens at night with the fireworks anyhow. But Im not sure what is planned for tomorrow.

What is everybody else doing for the 4th? I know where the party is gonna be happening down in So Cal. The Whitehouse pad. Woo Woo.
